A denture is a prosthetic device that can be used to replace multiple teeth or an entire arch. Unlike dental implants that are secured directly to the jawbone, this type of teeth replacement rest gently on the soft oral tissue. Yesterday’s dentures proved to be challenging for some, but with today’s technology, Dr. Gielincki has the experience, skill and resources to design prosethetics that look natural and fit comfortably.
As a prosthodontist, Dr. Gielincki has advanced training and patients benefit from his 30 years of experience. He uses only the finest materials and selects artificial teeth from only the best manufacturers in the world. His attention to detail ensures that you will have the most comfortable fit, functional performance and an attractive smile.
There are several different types including:
The process of fabricating begins with obtaining a very accurate impression using a custom tray and border molding. Precise impressions (molds) assure that your dentures will fit look natural and let you chew in comfort and confidence.
Although dentures are typically durable enough to provide years of use, things can happen that cause the prosthetic device to no longer fit properly, slip out of place and/or cause discomfort with eating or talking. Over time, a person's jaw line may deteriorate due to aging, cavities and missing teeth which then cause the jawbone to deteriorate around the root of the tooth. When deterioration occurs, the jaw line changes shape resulting in a prosethic device that no longer fits. Gum disease can also cause the jaw to increase its size of the jaw due to swelling. And, of course, as with any tooth replacement it can become worn or damaged. Dentures should be restructured or replaced every seven to 10 years—and sooner if you notice that it no longer fit correctly.
Quality can make all the difference. If you are faced with an ill-fitting prosthetic device that is uncomfortable and makes normal life a hassle, you can leave your woes at the door when you come in for your first appointment. We will create a custom denture that is fitted to your mouth, using high quality material, crafted by our highly experienced Prosthodontist, Dr. Gielincki.Patient Testimonials Request Appointment
